I recommend this book for two audiences. For the practitioner dealing with children who have an early neurologic injury, this is an exciting and readable textbook that gives valuable insights into the techniques of pediatric therapy. Kim draws heavily from the fields of motor control, motor learning and physiology as well as the current science and research that are fundamental to a therapeutic intervention. She teaches the hands-on technique in an easily digestible form.
I am also recommending this book to parents of children with neurologic problems because it will give you a better understanding of what to expect from your therapist. So often parents are not fully informed about what is available. I think this will be an useful adjunct to their libraries.
