Basic Cerebral Palsy Facts

BASIC CEREBRAL PALSY FACTS
The outcomes after early brain damage or brain maldevelopment vary with the diagnosis, the degree of spasticity and co-morbidities. In many cases, the expectations are set far too low. At the time of diagnosis, parents are often still told their child may never walk, talk or go to school. This is outdated and incorrect information. 60% of children with CP walk independently and 80% have mild to moderate involvement. There are so many treatments and interventions now available that the future truly is not what it used to be.
